Sidney's Evs in Brugge

"A friend who is far away is sometimes much nearer than one who is at hand".

I’m now an Evs volunteer here in Belgium for eleven months. My project takes place in Bruges, where I work for InsideOut. This is a network between indipendent hostels in all Europe. InsideOut’s idea is to develope informational, artistic and cultural initiatives for youngsters and organizations.

These are some of my tasks that I will attend for InsideOut:

Organize activities on travel information

Write a manual on travel information

Develope a newsletter for the i-Hostels network

Support the users base of www.i-hostels.com

Partecipate and support the partner seminar of the I-hostel Network

Help with the external communication of InsideOut

My first period in Belgium

I’m in Belgium since the 4 th of september. After a two days introduction in the organization and in the city I went to Ieper for an Arrival Course of ten days for all Evs volunteers. The camp was a great experience, I met a lot of people coming from different countries and I had fantastic time with them. I like the possibility to know different ways of thinking and the opportunity to speak with this people gave me the chance to know more about other cultures. Sometimes people have themselves conditioned from the cultural stereotypes. In this camp we had the opportunity to get free of them and to really know people for what they are. I received something important from each person and I hope that I gave also something to them. Thank you for the great time!!! I will never forget it!!!!!!!!
